Introduction to our Company:
Taurus Batteries was first established in 1975 and we are very proud to be a 100% citizen owned company.
We are a family owned business and believe in the strong unity and dependence of family and team. Interesting to note is that our Managing Director started off in this company by loading and offloading batteries from trucks and driving to deliver batteries for the customers. The attitude of “Hard Work Pays” is the motto throughout our group and the continued dedication to the company and the employees have enabled us to achieve a vibrant and efficient team who share in our vision for the future.
Throughout the years, as our business has continued to grow, we have ventured further and further throughout Botswana and now have many branches around the country.

It is our mission at Taurus to fit and supply quality products at affordable prices. We are one of the largest automotive spares and service suppliers in Botswana. Through continued investment into new equipment and training of our staff, and the sourcing of excellent products around the world we hope to branch further into the more difficult areas within our country and see our products reaching a greater population within Botswana.
We are also looking forward to branching in to the international markets within the coming years and taking our brand further within the region and the world! So, keep an eye out for our bright orange and black Taurus colours coming to you soon.
We offer a wide variety of vehicle orientated goods and services. Our products are of the highest quality and our service is exceptional. Our main line of business is automotive batteries and, on this front, we are proud to be in partnership with our sister company Chloride Exide Botswana (Pty)Ltd whereby we manufacture the batteries ourselves and sell them under the Taurus brand. This makes us a unique company within Botswana as we are the only local manufacturer of Batteries in Botswana. This joint venture between the two companies allows us to continually strive to produce batteries of the highest quality and standard and those that are best suited to the climate of the Southern African region. Thus, making us the forerunners in offering customer guaranteed packages within our field.
Our exports within the region reach as far as South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique, Lesotho, Swaziland and we are constantly looking to expand on our far reach within the region.
We are also proud supporters of local empowerment and employs over 170 Batswana employees. Our team has helped our company grow over the years and are a valuable and integral part of our Company. We are constantly training our Team and developing the skills within which helps us to maintain the constant growth within our industry and be a competitive player within our field.
With the ever-growing market and demands we have also diversified into a wide variety of other services that we offer – some of those include the selling of a wide range of mechanical spares, both Bosch and Denso Certified Diesel pump and injector services, common rail diesel injectors, auto- electrical services and workshops around the country.
